Mr. Trainer – purchasing director

The implementation of the new system makes the purchasing process less efficient.  It gives a lot of difficulties to us folks of the purchasing department.
One of it was the machine’s very slow response time; it gives major stumbling block that leads to the difficulties in allocating material. There is also a problem with stock accuracy, the stock and the inventory balances weren’t accurate.  In purchasing the importance of transaction accuracy and timely transactions are highly appreciated. Purchasing was totally dependent on the accuracy of the electronics stocks entered by the other departments. This leads into the major problem wherein electronically we had stocks of things but actually they don’t exist. It makes the information getting out as a crap, does make us to guess it all again.
Even with those difficulties that was experience with the implemented system, it still doesn’t lead into displacement of the people in this department. The system was actually designed to make the purchasing department more efficient, which I think will happen in the long run.
The teamwork would be a great impact to the success of the implemented system. There were lot of anticipation and we are trying to tolerate it. It makes us have difficulty in forming teams. But the other department’s patience is running out, so they’ve started on pointing fingers.
The guys training, discipline and appreciation is also a problem. They’re thinking in the old way which causes the problems. It takes a lot of time to change people and since this is not their number 1 priority, it would really be hard for them to adjust with this system. Their number 1 priority is the production, but they weren’t thinking that without any raw materials there would be no production.
We in the purchasing thinks forward all the time, if something goes wrong down the line we need to know about it.
